Jira Coverage Check allows you to evaluate how well your test cases cover Jira entities such as Sprints, Fix Versions, and Epics.
It helps identify gaps in coverage by showing which Jira items are linked to test cases or test results, and which are not.
Before you start
Jira Coverage Check is available for projects with an active Jira Requirements integration. Make sure your Jira integration is configured:
- For Cloud: see Connect to Jira Cloud
- For Data Center: see Connect to Jira Data Center
Generate a coverage report
- Open your project in TestRail
- Navigate to the Test Cases Page or a specific Test Run
- Select Jira Coverage on the top navigation bar
- In the dialog:
- Select the Jira entity type (e.g., Sprint, Fix Version, or Epic)
- Search and select the relevant Jira items
- (Optional) Filter by issue types
- Select Generate
View coverage results
The coverage report shows:
Covered items: Jira entities linked to one or more test cases or results
Uncovered items: Jira entities with no associated tests
From the results page, you can:
Open Jira items directly from the report
Review linked test cases for covered items
Export results as a CSV file
ℹ️ Notes:
- Jira Coverage Check is available only when Jira Requirements integration is enabled.
- Only one coverage report can run at a time.
- Large datasets may impact performance. Applying filters is recommended.
- Results reflect the current state of Jira references at the time the report is generated.
