Reports overview

TestRail provides the ability to generate reports that aggregate different types of data in order to provide you with deep insights about your testing process. You can find these reports by clicking REPORTS on the top navigation bar.

The following reports are available to be generated on the fly or scheduled for a more regular analysis. To learn how to configure report access and scheduling please see the general configurations for reports page.

Cases reports

Name	Description
Cases - Activity Summary	Shows a summary of new and updated test cases. Use cases Track test case design progress Track test case changes
Cases - Coverage for References	Shows the test case coverage for references in a coverage matrix. Use cases Track test case coverage Discover test cases with no references Discover references with no test case coverage
Cases - Property Distribution Report	Shows a summary of test cases, grouped by a selectable attribute. Use cases Discover the proportion of designed test cases by their type Discover if there is enough focus on high priority test cases design Track test case automation progress
Cases - Status Tops	Shows the test cases with the highest amount of results for the selected statuses, grouped by status. Use cases Test cases with a high failed frequency help you identify problematic areas of your application Test cases with a high blocked frequency may have design or execution limitations that may need to be addressed

Defects reports

Defects - Summary	Shows a summary of found defects for a milestone, test plan or select test runs. Use cases List defects and validate them against the latest status of the tests that originated them
Defects - Summary for Cases	Shows a summary of found defects for test cases in a coverage matrix. Use cases Check the progress of test cases that originated defects for a set of test runs
Defects - Summary for References	Shows a summary of found defects for references and their test cases in a coverage matrix. Use cases Check the progress of test cases that originated defects for a set of test runs Trace defects reported on test runs back to requirements
